Our Reconnect program helps people who find it difficult to return to work because of an injury, illness or disability, to find and keep a job. The program combines vocational rehabilitation services with employment assistance.
Our qualified staff can help you to:
- Understand, compensate for and manage the limitations imposed by your injury, illness or disability,
- Identify any assistance required to safely re-enter the workforce, improve endurance and avoid re-injury,
- Identify suitable and sustainable job options and goals,
- Search for jobs and prepare for returning to work
- Settle in to a new job and
We also assist with job design and workplace assessments and modifications.
Our specialist services include:
- Rehabilitation and general counselling
- Occupational therapy
- Ergonomics
- Vocational counselling
- Physiotherapy
- Speech therapy
- Education, training and work trials
- Specialised workplace support
Reconnect is targeted at job seekers who have previously worked and who:
- Due to receiving income support have “participation requirements” determined by Centrelink and who with support, have the capacity to work between 15 and 29 hours per week; or
- Do not have “participation requirements” but have the capacity to work at least 8 hours per week within 2 years.
